I started Smart Prices with a simple frustration: Technology is getting expensive, but it isn’t always getting better. Every year, companies release new gadgets with higher price tags, promising us that they are “revolutionary.”

But when I looked at my bank account, I realized that buying the “cheapest” item often cost me more money in the long run, and buying the “most expensive” item was usually a waste of cash.

I built this website to answer one question: “What is the actual value of this product?”

Most review sites just read the specification sheet. They tell you how many Megapixels a camera has or how fast the processor is. I don’t care about specs. I care about Economics.

On this site, I analyze technology through a financial lens. I calculate:

  • Cost Per Year: How much does this device actually cost you over its lifespan?

  • Depreciation: Will this gadget be worth $0 in two years?

  • Repairability: Can you fix it, or is it disposable trash?

  • Marketing vs. Reality: Is the “Pro” version actually better, or is it just branding?

All content on Smart Prices is written based on logic, analysis, and real-world testing.

  • No AI Fluff: I do not use AI to churn out generic news. Every article here is written by me, based on my own calculations and research.

  • Honest Verdicts: If a $50 earbud sounds the same as a $250 one, I will tell you. If a cheap laptop is a bad investment, I will warn you.
